“The department of economics, DGC participated in the 16th Biodiversity Festival 2025 organised by North East Network (NEN), Chizami which is one of the partnering agencies of Dimapur Government College. Four faculty and five students from the 6th semester’s class attended the programme led by Ms. Anungla Aier, AssociateProfessor and Head, Department of Economics, DGC.
The Biodiversity Festival is an annual event and is organised to create further awareness amongst the stakeholders to care for the health of the biodiversity which is the basic parameter for human well being for all generations to come.
Biodiversity has served us our food, economy, quality air, water, etc. It is, therefore, the duty of all to care for our rich Biodiversity.
The 16th Biodiversity Festival 2025, NEN Chizami incorporate various activities such as academic sessions with the students from various educational institutions, showcasing agricultural songs, seed exchange amongst the communities, display of traditional and locally grown crops, demonstration of traditional methods of weaving and crafts, community pot-luck, selling of local made crafts and agro-products, dissemination of biodiversity awareness through distribution of print materials, sharing of community voices on biodiversity and many more.
The 16th Biodiversity Festival 2025 was held on 6th and 7th March, 2025.”
