Strengths:
- Adequate faculty strength.
- Experienced and committed faculty members;
- Good relationships between the faculty and students as well as with authorities
- A considerable number of research publications.
- The department provides a postgraduate programme.
- The faculty members’ capacity to serve as leaders of various college committees.
Weakness:
- Faculty members’ engagement in research-related projects is still inadequate.
- The participation of faculty in National and International-level seminars and conferences is very limited.
- Insufficient number of books and reference materials for the PG level.
Opportunities:
- With faculty members having research expertise, the department can serve as a resource in a variety of programs;
- The department has the capacity to develop and instruct students in a range of leadership competencies.
- There is room to expand research-related activity now that the PG program has been established.
- To assist the organisation in adapting to the evolving educational landscape in accordance with NEP 2020.
Challenges:
- Managing the high enrolment of students in the department each year without sacrificing the standard of instruction.
- To increase the number of qualified faculty to effectively handle both the UG and PG classes.
- To strengthen the database that tracks the academic and professional development of department graduates.
