Report on Nagaland University Inspection Team visit for starting Post Graduate course:
The Inspection Team consisting of Prof. Jano S Liegise, Dean, School of Humanities and Education as Convenor and 2 members namely Prof. Jangkhomang Guite, HoD Dept of History & Archaeology and Prof Y Ben Lotha, Dept of History & Archaeology visited the department of History, Dimapur Government College on 11th June 2026 to study the feasibility for granting permission/provisional affiliation to start PG programme w.e.f. 2026-27.
The Inspection Team was received by the principal which was followed by a short programme at the Seminar hall. The formal programme was chaired by Ms. Asenla T Longkumer who welcomed the team. Presentation of the Department was given by Ms. Lily Rino, HoD& Associate Professor wherein she deliberated on the profile of the department highlighting the faculty and students’ profile and the achievements, strength and weakness of the department and the road map.
This was followed by an interactive session with the Inspection team who gave their views and the possibility of starting the PG programme in the department. After a long discussion the formal programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms Ningshijungla, Associate Professor. The programme was attended by the Principal, Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu and NEP 2020 Coordinator DGC, Dr. Hare Krushna Parhi and faculty of History department. This was followed by inspection of infrastructures like the Museum, Library and the skill hub and was followed by lunch. The visit ended on a positive note.
