Inaugural Programme of the “Beauty and Wellness Course (Batch 3)” on 1st  September 2026

The Skill Development Committee, Dimapur Government College, organised the inaugural programme of the “Beauty and Wellness Course (Batch 3)” on 1st September 2026 at the Seminar Hall, DGC, under the aegis of the Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland.

The programme was chaired by Ms. Kilangsungla Pongener, Asst. Professor, Dept of Education, DGC, who warmly welcomed the course facilitator, faculty members, and the participants of the Beauty and Wellness Course.

A short speech was delivered by Ms. N. Sentinungla Pongen, Vice Principal, DGC. In her address, she highlighted the importance of skill-based education and the flourishing beauty industry.  While emphasizing the value of self-grooming, she reminded participants that true grooming extends beyond outer appearance and must be balanced with inner beauty and wellness. Expressing gratitude to the Directorate of Higher Education for enabling the College to launch its third batch of the Beauty and Wellness course, she called it a valuable opportunity for students to graduate with a certified, employable skill alongside their degree.

Ms. Atula Kichu, Beauty Educator, Beauty and Wellness Course (Batch 3), familiarised participants with the objectives and scope of the course, including the handling of makeup tools and skin and hair care techniques, and provided an overview of the skills and knowledge to be imparted during the training.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Taba Yasi, Assistant Professor, Dept of Hindi, DGC. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting skill development, employability and practical learning opportunities among the students.
