Report on Financial Literacy Camp held on 25thAugust 2026
A Financial Literacy Camp was successfully conducted by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Kohima Branch and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Kolkata Branch, in the college on 25th Aug. 2026. Organised by RBI, Kohima office in collaboration with IQAC, DGC, the Camp was conducted in the college auditorium with a total of 113 student participants from 3rd semester Economics and Commerce departments and 4 faculty members. The Camp had 3 sessions with Mr. Keneisalie Kevin Solo, Manager, RBI, Kohima Branch, Ms. Supongla, Asstt. Manager, RBI, Kohima Branch and Adwait Abhay Dahale, Asstt. Manager, SEBI Kolkata , as the resource person.
In the first session, taken by Mr. Keneisalie Kevin Solo, topics such as Financial Landscape (how money flows in and around), Functions of RBI and Value of Money, Inflation Management, Issue of Currency, Development Role of RBI, Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Importance of Savings and investment were deliberated.
In the second session, taken by Mr. Adwait Abhay Dahale, Introduction to SEBI, Features of SEBI, Public Property Fund, Mutual Funds, Exchange Credit Funds, National Stock Exchange, Investment Opportunities and Risk Management were deliberated.
In the third session, Ms. Supongla deliberated on Security features of Banknotes & Note Refund Rules, Modus Operandi of Financial Fraudsters and Complaint Redressals.
The three sessions were followed by Q&A session where several queries raised by the students were satisfactorily clarified by the resource persons.
In all the camp was very educative and insightfully relevant for the students who are likely to enter the workforce in the near future to make informed and responsible financial decisions.
