Report on Distribution of Refreshment at Railway Station in Dimapur.
DATE: 18/09/2026
Following the successful conclusion of the P.A. SANGMA DIALOGUES event on September 18th, 2026, a substantial volume of unconsumed refreshments remained. To prevent the wastage of quality food resources post-event, the Political Science Students’ Club of Dimapur Government College decided to give away the leftover food to the needy people.
A team comprising five dedicated students packed the leftover refreshments, consisting of samosa and juice securely into distribution boxes. The team then travelled to the Dimapur Railway Station area, a location identified as having a significant population of transient and underprivileged individuals.
The students systematically covered the station perimeter, public waiting zones, and the over bridge walkways, ensuring that the food reached individuals genuinely in need, including station workers, labourers, travellers and underprivileged people living around the railway vicinity.
This was done with the objective to foster civic engagement, empathy, and social responsibility among students and to extend the institution’s footprint of community service beyond the campus boundaries.
All surplus refreshments from the event were successfully and hygienically distributed. Through this, the participating students gained hands-on experience in community mobilization and social advocacy, bridging the gap between students and the local populace. This initiative has effectively marked a broader path of service and learning for the students.
