Report on DGC 54th Annual Freshers’ Meet, 13th November 2021

Dimapur Government College held its 54th Annual Freshers’ Meet on 13th November, 2021 at the College auditorium under the theme “Transcending the Barriers” with Shri. Nukshimatong (NCS), Extra Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) Dimapur, as the Guest Speaker.

The programme which was led by Khotai & Ambika began with Asst. Professor Suzzana Yaden,Dept.of English, invoking God’s blessing upon the freshers. Dr. M L Ngullie, Principal DGC, welcomed the freshers and the attendees. The guest speaker, Shri. Nukshimatong (NCS) in his speech elaborated on how students as responsible citizens can use rights in the most useful and appropriate way and how one should transcend the barriers of our Naga Society.

Speech on behalf of the freshers was given by Ilotoli Chopi.

Lunhola of B.A 3rd Semester captivated the audience with her mesmerizing voice.

Aoacum, General Secretary DGCSC, in his speech welcomed the freshers on behalf of the seniors and thanked the participants, the guest speaker, invitees from the different colleges as well as the volunteers which included cadets from DGC NCC.

16 freshers participated in the ‘DGC Freshers Mr & Miss 2021’ title contest in which Washitemjen and Jassika Kalita emerged as the winners. The title of ‘Mr & Miss Perfect’ was won by Vikeduozo Metha and Nungsangjenla.

The guest speaker and the panel of judges- Asst. Professors E. Lichumthung Kikon (ANO, DGC NCC Boys) & Watisenla (ANO, DGC NCC Girls), & Irangsa Cerai,DGC Miss Fresher 2018, were presented with certificates and bouquets.

The invitees were also presented a certificate each.

The 4 winners of the Poetry Writing Competition organised by the Literati Club DGC in September 2021 were also felicitated with certificates which were presented by Kezhaleu Hesso, Vice Principal DGC.

 

The entire event was covered by Miss Imkumrenla with her excellent photography skills.

 

The programme ended with light refreshment.
