Student Welfare Fund

The Student Welfare Committee takes care of two very important activities- fund and award

To support students from financially weak background
To manage and organize the Award function

This year the SWC (Fund) has generous contributions from many individuals besides the contributions from Departments, IQAC fund, Principal and Vice Principal. Around 80 students availed the application forms but only 51 submitted the forms with the required documents- income certificate/last examination result/record attendance and Aadhaar card.

The 51 students were called for Interview which spanned over 3 days. After a rigorous interview, scrutiny of the documents and getting their backstory, the Committee selected 27 students. The selected students will be given Rs 4800/- for the academic session 2023-2024 which will be given out in two installments. This year the Committee decided to increase the number of beneficiaries availing SWF from 22 in 2022 to 27 in 2023.

2. Student Awards 2023-2024

Meritorious Award for the session 2023-2024 was awarded in compliance with the vision to acknowledge the meritorious student toppers from both Arts and Commerce streams.

Principal Professor Sanjay Sharma since he took over as Principal instituted an Award -Achiever’s Award to be given to the NU (Nagaland University) Topper in any subject and from any stream in the college. The topper will receive cash prize of Rs 25000/- and a citation.

AWARDS:

This year, for the first time, the college has an NU Topper from Department of History. Ms Lito H Achumi tops the NU BA exam in History with a CGPA of 6.85.

Achiever’S Award 2023: Ms Lito H Achumi receives the Achiever’s Award with a citation and cash prize of Rs 25,000/-
Dr. Hokishe Sema Award of Excellence in Arts 2023: Ms. Lito H Achumi, Department of History receives this prestigious award with a citation and a cash prize of Rs 10,000/-

iii. L.T.Yepthomi Award of Excellence in Commerce 2023: Ms. N. Wonchilo Odyuo from Commerce bagged this award with a citation and a cash prize of Rs 10,000/-
