Annual Activity Report (June 2023- May 2024)

1. Inter-College Cricket Tournament:

The Dimapur Government College Cricket team participated in the 1^st Inter-College Championship Trophy 2023, jointly organised by Dimapur District Cricket Association and Chumoukedima District Cricket Association under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association, which was held from 17^th to 22^nd July 2023, at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima Dimapur.

The College cricket team emerged as a Runner-Up of the Tournament and Alok Sharma of B.Com 3^rd semester was awarded  the Best Batsman

2. 2^nd St. Joseph trophy:

58 students guided by Mr. Lekokonen Longkumer, Asst. Prof Department of Commerce participated in the 2^nd St. Joseph trophy (inter-collegiate championship) organised by St. Joseph University, Dimapur from 5^th October,2023 to 7^th October,2023.

Dimapur Government College emerged as the Overall Champion of the 2^nd St.Joseph Trophy 2023.

3. Inter-Collegiate Selection Trial (Badminton Women):

Anjana Limbu of BA 3^rd semester, Department of Education, Dimapur Government College have been selected to participate in the East Zone Inter University Badminton (women) Tournament held at Nagaland University Lumami from 21^st-24^th November 2023.

4. Inter-Collegiate Football (Men) Selection Trial:

Dimapur Government College Football Team guided by Mr. Lekokonen Longkumer, Asst. Prof Department of Commerce participated in the Inter-Collegiate- Football(men) Selection Trial Conducted by Nagaland University on 10^th and 11^th November 2023 at Merima Campus, Nagaland University.

            Following students were selected to represent Nagaland University team from Dimapur Government College:

The selected players participated in the Northeast Zone Inter University Football(men) tournament held at Assam Royal Global University from 13^th-17^th December 2023.

5. Annual Sports Week:

Dimapur Government College conducted its annual week from 6^th-8^th February 2024. The 3 days event consist of various sports and games like football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, tug of war, high jump, long jump, traditional pole-climbing, races etc.. the competition was held among four houses ( Doyang, Dikhu, Tizu and Dansari). After intense competition among the four houses, Doyang emerge as the Overall Champion of the event.

6. 2^nd Patkai Trophy:

63 students guided by Mr. Lekokonen Longkumer, Asst. Prof Department of Commerce aparticipated in the 2^nd Patkai Trophy (inter-collegiate championship) organised by Patkai Christian College, Chumoukedima from 29^th February to 2^nd March 2024.

*Best Player (football)                       – Vimegolie (BA5th semester Department of  Political Science)                         Dimapur Government College emerged as the Overall Champion.
