ALUMNI COMMITTEE
Annual Consolidated Report (JUNE 2023 – MAY 2024)
- As part of the requirements for setting up Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) & Incubation Centre (IC) in the college under Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati, funded by NEC, the names and type of business were collected in July 2o23. Altogether 20 successful and well-placed alumni entrepreneurs were enlisted.
- The Alumni Committee conducted a survey to capture the opinions of the alumni under five important heads. A questionnaire was administered to all the alumni through the Google Docs.
- In a first of its kind in the history of DGC, the alumni association decided to start a scholarship to help the financially poor students to be sponsored by few conscientious alumni.
Interview was conducted for selection on 22.9.2023.
4. The Committee had a meeting on 3.10.24 to discuss about the alumni programme.
5. On 13th October, Scholarship was given to 11 students, 2 from B Com and 9 from BA were awarded with 1st installment of scholarship in cash sponsored by alumni individuals. The Sponsors who handed over the awards were:
- Mahesh Agarwal
- Basu Damani
- I Anungba Sanglir
- Rama Roy
- Shankar Drip
- Shamsheer
- Akato A Rochill
- Azo Wetsah for Rajkumar and
- K Temjen Jamir.
One student was given a bicycle sponsored by the treasurer of the Dimapur Government College Alumni Association.
The programme was also attended by the Oriental Colony residents.
6. The alumni canteen, ‘College Bites’ provides wholesome and nutritious food is at affordable rates. It was inaugurated Prof. Sanjay Sharma, Principal, DGC, on 3rd March 2024.
7. Registration and membership fees for the outgoing 6th semester of BA, BCom for Alumni Association 2024 was conducted. A total number of 538 student was registered
8. 26.4.2024 the second installment scholarship disbursed to the student beneficiaries.
