The Literati Club DGC, organised a Short Story Writing and Extempore Speech Competition for the students of DGC on the 17thof November 2021 in commemoration of National Education Day 2021 at DGC’s Arts Block, Room 1 and Room 2.
Dr. Maongkala Longchar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English anchored the competition.
The panel of Judges for the competitions were:
a) Extempore Speech:
i) I.SuzzanaYaden, Assistant Professor,Dept.of English
ii) Sedevino Jakhalu, Associate Professor,Dept.of Political Science
iii) Imtikokla Ozukum , Assistant Professor,Dept. of Economics
iv) Herali Achumi, Assistant Professor,Dept. of Sociology
b) Short Story Writing:
i) Shuiching Konyak, Assistant Professor, Dept. Of English
ii) Watisenla, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English
iii) Dr. Maongkala Longchar, Assistant Professor, Dept of English
iv) Alemtula , Associate Professor, Dept. of English.
Mithu Longkumer, Associate Professor & HoD, English, in her keynote speech addressed the significance of the National Education Day and thanked the participants and the judges.
There were 16 student-participants in total with 5 of the students participating in both the competitions.
The winners were:
a)Extempore Speech:
1st – Imlikumla Kichu,B.A 3rdSemester
2nd– Lipoksangla, B.Com 5th Semester
3rd (Tie) – Lhalhai Singson and Vitoka Chishi, B.A 3rd Semester
b) Short Story Writing:
1st – Imlikumla Kichu,B.A 3rd Semester.
2nd – Vitoka Chishi, B.A 3rd Semester
3rd – Malmaya Gurung, B.Com 1st Semester
The winners were presented with certificates by Watisenla , Assistant Professor, Dept. Of English, during the closing ceremony of the Sports Day, on 18th of November,2021.
