Report on ANCSU Collegiate Meet, Nov 13- 17, 2018

Dimapur Government College hosted the Collegiate Meet 2018 organized by All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) from the 13th to the 17th of November, 2018 in the college premises.

The five day program saw a variety of sporting competitions, a beat contest and the crowning of Miss ANCSU.

The Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Nagaland Shri Temjen Imna Along, was the Chief Host. The Special Guest for the Inaugural Function was Shri. Tongpang Ozukum , Minister , Public Works Department, Nagaland. Special Invitee for the Introductory Session was Shri. Relo T Aye, ADCP, Crime, Dimapur. Special Invitee for the Beat Contest was Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Advisor, Rural Development, Nagaland. Special Invitee for the Valedictory Function was Er. Zale Neikha, Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.

The winners in the different categories are as follows:

 Winner: Sakus Mission College

 Runners up: Salt College

  1. Volleyball :

Winner – St. John College

Runners up – Phek Govt. College

  1. Badminton:

Doubles Winner – Fazl Ali College

Runners up – Sakus Mission College

  1. Beat Contest :

Winner – Dimapur Govt. College

Runners up – Kohima Science College

  1. Miss ANCSU :

Winner:  Mount Mary College

1st Runners up –Sakus Mission College

2nd Runners up – Dimapur Govt. College

Report on Constitution Day, Nov 26, 2018

Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organized a legal awareness program in observance of “Constitution Day” on the 26th of November, 2018 at the Dimapur Govt. College Auditorium.

The principal of the college, Kavili Jakhalu welcomed the gathering comprising of students, teachers and lawyers.

A number of lawyers spoke on various issues like the salient features of the Constitution of India, basic legal rights, immoral trafficking and cyber crimes.

Chief Judicial Magistrate and secretary, DDLSA, Ajongba Imchen gave a brief introduction about how Constitution Day was adopted and is now observed on this day annually
