Career Counselling Seminar on UPSC by Khan Study Group on 5. 3.2020

The Career Counseling & Placement Cell of Dimapur Government College, supported by the IQAC of DGC, organised a seminar on UPSC exams which was conducted by the Khan Study Group (KSG) in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, Nagaland. 

 The programme began with the Vice- Principal, Ms.Kezhaleu Hesso welcoming the resource person and his team.

 Mr. Raza Hamid, the resource person, began his session with illustrations of people whose dedication led them to achieve great heights. 

 He iterated that people from NE should be in Delhi to represent the region. Explaining the pattern of the exam he advised the aspiring students to start their preparation by the final year of their undergraduate course. Preparation for the mains should begin before appearing for the preliminary examination as the time between the two exams is very short since prelims is only to root out non-serious candidates. The session included practical tips on buying books, subscribing to dailies and how one should form the habit of studying several hours daily. Mr. Hamid also pointed out that these exams are structured to test more than the IQ of a candidate; presence of mind and critical thinking are also measured. In conclusion, he exhorted the students to prepare for bigger level of exams as our mind is equipped to do what we aim for.

 The session concluded after a brief discussion with the students and vote of thanks from Mr. N. Temjenmeren , Assistant Professor in Philosophy & Convenor of CC& P Cell.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Hare Krushna Parhi, Assistant Professor in Education.
