Report on World Environment Day, 5^th June 2025.

The Department of Environmental Science in collaboration with Environmental Information Awareness Capacity Building & Livelihood Programme (EIACP), Nagaland Pollution Control Board organised a programme to celebrate World Environment Day on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally” & Model making competition on the theme “Waste to Wealth”.  The programme was sponsored by IQAC DGC and attended by 150 students , Vice Principal and two teachers. There were six members from the EIACP, Nagaland Pollution Control Board.

The resource person for the   programme were Ms. Khriehunuo Rutsa, Programme Officer EIACP and Ms. Rongsenben Longkumer, Junior Scientific Assistant, NPCB. It was chaired by Selina Walling, HoD of Environmental Science, welcome address delivered by the Vice Principal Ms. Khezaleu Hesso and Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Hannah Tia, Asst. Professor, Department of Sociology.

There were 13 student participating teams for the Model making contest. The following were adjusted as 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd position winners:

1^st-Team no. 5( Lucy Keppen, Nzani Ovung , Lhaineichoi)

2^nd-Team no 7 (Akhumla T, Arila R, Y Toshela)

3^rd  (a)- Team no 9( Imtiwala Ozukum, Charles Yanthan, Thungchobeni)

3^rd (b)- Team no 6( Toto, Tudesang, Irangwangle)
