Reference to office circular NO, HED/ADM/COVID-OC-1/2020 Dated 16^th April 2020, Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland.

As per directive of MHRD D.O.NO.SECY(HE) MHRD/2020,Dated 04^th April 2020, to oversee students welfare and mental well-being of students, Dimapur Government College, Dimapur constituted a Committee for Covid-19 on 06.04.2020 with the following members: Mrs. Khrienuo (Convenor), Shri. Supong Jamir, Mrs. Imtikokla Ozukum, Shri. E.L.Kikon (ANO NCC), Shri. M.Angami (NSS I/C) Miss. Puli Chishi, Mrs. Ruokuoviu, Shri. Khrieo Rutsa, Shri. Maheulungsing GS, DGCSC, Shri. Sungjemtemsu V.P, DGCSC, Miss. Neotola Women coordinator, DGCSC.
The Committee made an appeal to Dimapur Government College fraternity to generously donate towards student’s welfare fund to support the most needy students and staff stranded due to nationwide lockdown. An amount of Rs. 61,000.00 (Rupees sixty-one thousand) only and some Ration items (as on 30.04.2020) was received from teaching, non-teaching staff and well wishers for the same.
The College Authority Contributed Rs. 20,000(Rupees twenty thousand) only to support the most needy students and staff stranded due to nationwide lockdown.
As part of community extension service the Principal along with covid-19 team donated face mask, rubber gloves to the Chairman and Gaonbura of Oriental Colony, Dimapur on 09-04-2020 as an initiative for ensuring public safety and security. Face mask, hand sanitizers and food items were handed over to the College Girls hostel on the same day.
To extend all possible help and assistance to the District Administration, the College was requisitioned as base camp for accommodating Police personnel on law and order duties at Dimapur on 22-4-2020.
All students informed through Student’s Council to download “AAROGYA SETU” application to fight covid-19.
Submitted list of student details stranded in hostels, rented rooms on 07-04-2020 to the District Administration.
Visited stranded students in the hostels and paying guest rooms by DGC covid-19 team members.
On 15-4-2020 the team members reported to District Administration and arranged ration for stranded migrant labourers working in the College construction
The DGC covid-19 Team discuss report and update activities done by the team member’s everyday through online facilities.
The DGC covid-19 Team reach out to more than 100 stranded students with ration and toiletries consisting of Rice, Dal, M. Oil , Potatoes , Eggs, Salt, Green vegetables , Snacks , Bathing Soap , Washing Soap , Tooth paste, Shampoos , Sanitary pads, etc.
