- One-Day Orientation Programme for the introduction of M.A. Education.
The Education department conducted a One-Day Orientation Programme for the introduction of M.A. Education on August 11, 2023. Resource persons were the faculties from the Department of Education, Nagaland University, headed by Prof. Lungsang Zeliang.
The programme consisted of three sessions. The first session began with an overview of the “M.A. Education Programme under Nagaland University,” delivered by Ms. Narola Chuba, Assistant Prof., Department of Education. The second session on “Research Steps,” including the methodology for M.A. dissertations was presented by Prof. Lungsang Zeliang, Department of Education. In the third session, Dr. Boyillapalli Venkata Rao deliberated on “Qualitative and Quantitative Research”.
2. Subject Topper Award, 2023
The Department of Education, DGC, awarded Ms. Ruth N. Yanthan the Subject Topper Award for 2023 with a CGPA of 6. The award, which comes with a citation and a cash award of Rs. 5,000/-, was handed over by the HoD on August 3, 2023.
3. Inaugural cum Orientation of M.A Education
A humble inaugural function was held on 25th August 2023 in the presence of the Principal, Vice principal, all the Department heads, Senior HA, Librarian, M.A students, and the education department faculty. Followed by an orientation where the M.A Education programme was introduced to the students.
4. Teachers Day Logo painting competition held on September 5, 2023
The Education Club celebrated Teachers’ Day by organising a logo painting competition with the Education Honours students of all the semesters on September 5, 2023 on a theme “The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher”. Altogether, eight students participated in the competition. The following students were declared winners.
First: Ms. Ekonlumi Kikon, B.A. 3rd Semester
Second: Ms. Imonenla, B.A. 3rd Semester
Third: Ms. P. Tabita Thapa, B.A. 5th Semester
All the participants were given certificates of appreciation for their participation. It was decided that the first prize logo would be the logo of the Education Department.
5. NU inspection team for extension of provisional affiliation of M.A education on 15th March, 2024.
An Inspection team from the Department of Education at Nagaland University visited the college and interacted with the department and college authority.
6. “Talent Show” Competition
The Education Club conducted a talent show competition for its members on 16th April 2024. Student participants exhibited their talents in singing, dance, poem recitation, etc. The program was attended by seven teachers and 134 pupils in total.
7. Election of the Education Club new office bearers on 16/04/2024
The ‘Education Club’ had a joint meeting with the Education Honours students of all the semesters to elect a new team of office bearers to carry forward its activities. For the 2024-2025 tenure, the following students were elected as office bearers:

8. Educational visit to NIELIT Dimapur on 26/4/2024
The Department of Education organised a one-day students’ exposure visit to the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Dimapur, on 26th April, 2024, for the B.A. 6th Semester (Education Hons). The visit was made with the objective to enlighten the graduating students with the different courses offered at NIELIT that can be pursued to enhance their knowledge and employability. The students were accompanied by seven faculty members of the department. The NIELIT officials organised a short programme where a comprehensive description of NIELIT and its operations was highlighted by Mr. Daniel Meren, Additional Director, NIELIT, Dimapur. The officer also presented a talk on ‘Cyber World, Cybercrime’ and ICSAS (Initiative for Cyber Security Awareness Society), an application developed by NIELIT.
9. Interactive Programme and Farewell for Graduating Students
The Education Department organized an interactive session with its Final Semester students on 26/04/2024 at 12:00 noon in the seminar hall. The session was chaired by Ms. Imokokla, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Diethoseu Mepfhuo, HoD, exhorted the students. Some of the outgoing students shared their experiences and aspirations. Assistant Professor Dr. Hare Krushna Parhi discussed the career prospects after graduation. Ms. Rebainla Ao, Associate Professor, pronounced a special prayer for the graduating students.
