Strengths:

• A strong faculty.
• Experienced and committed faculty members.
• Good relationships between the teachers and students as well as with authority.
• The ability of faculty members to manage several college committees.
• A good number of research publications.

Weakness:

• The participation of faculty in National and International-level seminars and conferences is very limited.
• Faculty members’ engagement in research-related projects is still inadequate.

Opportunities:

• Organise seminars by inviting participants from other departments that broaden the mental horizons of the teachers.
• With faculty members having research experience, the department has the opportunity to participate as resource persons in various programmes.
• The department has the potential to groom and train the students in various leadership skills.
• To help the institution cope with the changing pattern of education as per the NEP 2020.

Challenges: 

• Handling the large number of students opting for the subject every year without compromising on the quality of education.
• To introduce postgraduate programme in Education.
• To maintain a database to track the academic and career progression of graduates from the department.
