Strengths:
- A strong faculty.
- Experienced and committed faculty members.
- Good relationships between the teachers and students as well as with authority.
- The ability of faculty members to manage several college committees.
- A good number of research publications.
Weakness:
- The participation of faculty in National and International-level seminars and conferences is very limited.
- Faculty members’ engagement in research-related projects is still inadequate.
Opportunities:
- Organise seminars by inviting participants from other departments that broaden the mental horizons of the teachers.
- With faculty members having research experience, the department has the opportunity to participate as resource persons in various programmes.
- The department has the potential to groom and train the students in various leadership skills.
- To help the institution cope with the changing pattern of education as per the NEP 2020.
Challenges:
- Handling the large number of students opting for the subject every year without compromising on the quality of education.
- To introduce postgraduate programme in Education.
- To maintain a database to track the academic and career progression of graduates from the department.
