Dimapur Government College accorded a farewell to Vice Principal Ms. Diethoseű Mepfhűo on 30th June, 2026, marking 35 years of committed service to the institution. The programme was chaired by Ms. Rebainla Ao, Associate Professor, Department of Education.
Faculty members reflected on Ms. Mepfhűo’s immense contributions to the institution, most notably her role in establishing the M.A. in Education Department and her sustained initiatives that elevated the Girls’ Hostel to new standards of care and facility. Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir congratulated her on retirement, remarking on her 35 years of dedicated service to the college, and noted that he will miss a trusted colleague. Students recalled her influence extending well beyond classroom teaching.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit also extended gratitude for her generous contributions, which were utilised to beautify the vicinity of the VP’s office within the college. Farewell speeches were delivered by Dr. Yelhi Vero, Vice President, DGCTA, on behalf of teachers, Mr. Ashok Jain, Sr. HA, on behalf of ministerial staff, Ms. Nikshijungla Longchar, Convenor, Girls Hostel Management Committee and several other voluntary tributes.
The programme closed with a prayer by Mr. Lhipe Naro, Head, Department of Sociology, and a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. N. Sentinungla Pongen, Head, Department of Philosophy.
