- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, GUIDELINES AND RULES FOR CANDIDATES (INCLUDING RESERVED CATEGORY)
- Only fresh candidates will be eligible to contest (Former Class Representatives and Executives are not eligible).
- Intending candidates should have 75% attendance and should not have any backlog or be a repeater. Regarding the mentioned matters they must get clearance from the Examination Branch.
- Intending candidate must get Library Clearance Certificate.
- Intending candidates should have valid Student Identity Card or Library Card.
- Intending candidates for Class Representatives (CR) must collect the Nomination Form from the Election Commission Station (College Seminar Hall) beginning from 10.00 A.M on 07.09.2026 and the completed Nomination Form is to be submitted by 1.00 P.M on 08.09.2026, in person, by the Candidate accompanied by the Proposer and the Seconder.
- The Proposer and the Seconder for Class Representatives (CR) must be from the same class/section and must attach their Library Clearance Certificate along with the nomination.
- The Proposer and Seconder for the Executive Council must be from among the elected Class Representatives (CR).
- For the Reserved Posts, that is, General Secretary, Finance Secretary and Games and Sports Secretary, a candidate may not be elected as Class Representatives (CR) to contest. In such case, however, he/she will not have voting rights for the election to the Executive council.
- There shall be equal gender representation in the election of the Class Representatives, that is, one male CR and one female CR.
- ELECTION REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES
- Candidature will be nullified in case of absentee candidate and candidate without valid Student Identity Card or Library Card.
- Candidate will be allowed to give Public Speech for maximum of 3 (three) minutes before the voting begins.
- Students without valid Student Identity Card or Library Card will not be allowed to take part in the election process.
- Voting will be through secret ballot.
- An elected Class Representatives can contest for only one post of the Executive Council.
- Any complain pertaining to the election process must be logged to the Election Commission within half an hour of the conduct of election.
- The decision of the Election Commission shall be final and binding in case of any electoral dispute.
- The Election Code of Conduct, as stated in this Notification and Article 9 of DGCSC Constitution, comes into immediate effect with the issue of this Notification. Any student found creating any kind of trouble shall invite disciplinary action including disqualification from the electoral process.
