A Short Report on the Discourse
on
“The Future of Work: Shaping Nagaland’s Socio-economic Future”
The Department of Philosophy, Dimapur Government College, organized a discourse on “The Future of Work: Shaping Nagaland’s Socio-economic Future” on 18th September 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of Dimapur Government College. The event was Sponsored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DGC.
The programme was chaired by Ms. Nasenkundang M. Chang. The programme began with the welcome and introduction delivered by Dr. Wabangnaro Imchen, Asstt. Prof., Department of Philosophy, who set the context for the discourse and highlighted the relevance of engaging with emerging changes in the world of work.
The resource person, Ms. Limabenla Jamir, Public Policy & Governance Professional and Consultant with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), delivered a 60-minute discourse on the future of work and its implications for Nagaland’s socio-economic development. The discussion focused on the changing nature of employment, emerging opportunities and challenges, and the need for individuals and institutions to prepare for a rapidly transforming socio-economic environment.
The discourse was followed by an interactive Questions and Discussion session, providing participants an opportunity to engage with the resource person and explore issues concerning employment, skills, technology, governance and the future workforce in Nagaland.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Asangba Tzudir, Asstt. Prof., Department of Philosophy. The event provided an important academic platform for students and faculty to reflect on the changing world of work and the broader socio-economic future of Nagaland. Altogether 60 students attended the discourse event.
