Participants:
A total of 270 students, along with 11 teachers, attended the Fest, out of which a total of 186 students participated in various competitions.
ECO FEST 2.0 — “THE PROFIT PARADOX”
The Economics Club, Department of Economics, Dimapur Government College, in collaboration with IQAC organized its second “Eco Fest” on the 3rd of October 2026 at the College Auditorium under the theme “The Profit Paradox”, with the objective of bringing together students from different semesters and departments to participate in various competitions and activities. The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and provided a platform for them to showcase their talents, creativity, confidence and competitive spirit.
The programme commenced at 9:00 AM with an invocation by Miss Naomi K. Sangma, B.A. 5th Semester, followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms. Sutoli Sema, Teacher-in-Charge, Economics Club. Dr. Imtikokla Ozukum, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, delivered the theme address on “The Profit Paradox.” The programme also featured a special performance titled “Economics Allegory”, by the students of DGC boy’s hostel.
The Fest included a diverse range of competitions, covering both creative and academic activities as well as sports. The competitions included Solo Singing, Painting, Debate, Arm Wrestling and Futsal. The program was judged by a panel comprising:

The Futsal match saw intense competition, with teams showcasing excellent coordination, fast-paced dribbling, and strategic playmaking. The players demonstrated great stamina and sportsmanship throughout, turning the game into a thrilling spectacle. The audience roared with excitement at every goal, saved, and near missed, adding to the electric atmosphere. There were 14 teams in total, with Faith FC taking the victory in boys futsal.


The girls team also saw intense competition, with the teams showing intense enthusiasm and team spirit. The matches were not only a showcase of athletic talent but also teamwork and communication. There were 3 teams in total in the girl’s category with Ematha FC as the victor.


- Debate Competition
The Debate Competition was won by Group E, comprising:

The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners by Dr. Vinyühu Lhoungu, Associate Professor, Department of Economics and Coordinator of IQAC, Dimapur Government College, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Miss Neilhouvino C. Meyase, B.A. 5th Semester. The event ended with the benediction by Mr. Antishan Kikon, B.A. 3rd Semester, Assistant General Secretary, Economics Club.
Eco Fest 2.0 successfully brought together students from different departments in a spirit of participation, creativity and healthy competition, making the celebration a memorable event for the Economics Club and the college community.
