Eco Fest 2024

The Economics club, in collaboration with the IQAC  organised its first “Eco Fest” on the 10th of November, 2024 at the the college Auditorium under the theme “Unleash Your Potential”, where the fest witnessed the success of bringing together students from different classes and departments  to compete with each other in various competitions. The fest  was organised in two sessions and hence  included the following competition

Session A

  1. Singing
  2. Extempore Speech
  3. Debate
  4. Mimicry

Session B

  1. Futsal
  2. Volleyball

Participants:

A total of 165 students along with 3 teachers attented the Fest. Out of which, there were a total of 48 students who participated in the competition.

Session A:

The session A started at 9:00 am in the morning and concluded at 1:00 pm, accompanied by 3 teachers (Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu, Dr Moakala Jamir and Puduzeno Rose), a total of 98 students from BA 1st, 3rd and 5th sem , Economics department and 67 students from all the other  departments within the college attended. The first session was led by Miss Pouthailu Rongmei from BA 5th sem , followed by an invocation by  Mr. Tiamongba. Time was also given to Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu, the IQAC Coordinator for a short speech. He encouraged the sudents to come up with more such kinds of activities to keep the competition level high in the college and also allow students to unleash their potentials through this platform. He also highlighted on the assistance provided by the IQAC to the students and urged to introduce new events, assuring IQAC’s assistance in the future. Followed him  was the singing competition, Extempore speech , debate and mimicry where each of the competition had 2 winners  i.e, first and second position. The number of participants and the winners for each competition are as follows:

Winners of each items: 

  1. Singing Competition: 

1st place – Nonlei Konyak (BA 5th Sem)

2nd place- Aoluin (BA 3rd Sem)

2. Extempore Speech:

1st place – Chemei Shiu (BA 5th Sem)

2nd place- Lanusunep Longchar (BA 5th Sem)

3. Debate competition:

Best debator: Lanusunep Longchar (BA 5th Sem)

4. Mimicry Competition:

1st place- Yeanglem C Konyak (BA 5th Sem)

2ndplace- Imsennaro Jamir (B.Com 5th Sem)

Session B:

The second session kicked off with  great energy and sportsmanship featuring two exciting matches. (Futsal & Girls volleyball). Both the games took place simultaneously on the ground outside the colllege auditorium, drawing a lively crowd of students who cheered enthusiastically for the participants.

Futsal:

 The Futsal match saw intense competition, with teams showcasing excellent coordination, fast-paced dribbling, and strategic play-making. The players demonstrated great stamina and sportsmanship throughout, turning the game into a thrilling spectacle. The audience roared with excitement at every goal, save, and near missed, adding to the electric atmosphere. There were 15 teams in total and the “Economics Club” group turned out to be the victorious team.

The winning team was handed over a cash prize of Rs 3500 along with certificates to the team members.

Girls Volleyball:

Meanwhile, the Girls Volleyball match took place on the adjacent court, where teams exhibited skillful serves, powerful spikes, and well-timed blocks. The match was not only a display of athletic talent but also teamwork and communication. Spectators witnessed a neck-to-neck game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. There were 3 competing teams out of which, the “Team Karasuno” emerged as the winner and was handed over a cash prize of Rs 3500 along with certificates to the team members.

Both matches concluded with loud applauses and cheers, celebrating the effort and passion of every participant. Winners were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates, and special recognition was given to standout performers from each game by Sir Dr. Vinyuhu Lhoungu , the Coordinator of the IQAC, DGC.

The second session marked a spirited conclusion of the event, emphasizing the values of teamwork, healthy competition, and community engagement through small platforms from such event.
