Consolidated Report on Education Club May 2024 – June 2025

1.  Extempore  Speech and  Essay Competition

      Date:  04.10.2024

      Venue: Seminar Hall, DGC

             The Extempore Speech and Essay Competition was held in commemoration of Gandhi  Jayandi (155th  Birth Anniversary).

Theme: “GANDHIAN  THOUGHTS  OF  EDUCATION AND  ITS  RELEVANCE  IN  TODAY’S CONTEXT”

Winners for Extempore Speech Competition:

1st place:  Mr. Sentiakum  Jamir, B.A 1st Semester

2nd place: Mr. Temsuzungba,  B.A 1st Semester

3rd place: Miss Kainali,  B.A 5th Semester

Winners of Essay Writing Competition:

1st Place: Miss Imtiwala, B.A 1st Semester

2nd Place:  Mr. Bisal  Dev,  B.A 5th Semester        

3rd Place:  Mr.  Aghato,  B.A 1st Semester

2.  Visit to Old Age Home (A House Of Friendship)

       Date: 26th March, 2025

       Place: Landmark Hill View Colony, Dimapur

       Time: 10:00 a.m.

       Theme: “Spreading of Joy and Love”

           13 students who visited the Old Age Home participated in various activities in  sharing experiences, songs, Motivational talk on Love and Joy, Living a happy life, and Learning to live together.

3.  Cultural Day

Date: 15.04.2025
Place: Dimapur Government College, Auditorium
Time 9:30 a.m.
Theme: “Exploring cultural heritage through Education”.

The event was hosted by Mr. Wongshiba and Ms. Tsuphula from B.A 4th Semester. Highlights of the program:

  1. Cultural fashion show (Presented by B.A 6th Semester)
  2. Cultural talk on food and heritage by B.A 4th Semester students
  3. Cultural dance presented by B.A 4th Semester & 6th Semester.
  4. The event concluded with a vote of thanks followed by refreshment, and with the selection and announcement of new Education office bearers for the year 2025 -2026.

 The new Education Club office bearers elected are as follows:

  1. President               :  Mr. Wongshiba, B.A 4th Semester
  2. Vice President       :  Ms. Eunice, B.A 2nd Semester
  3. General Secretary :  Mr. Temsuzungba B.A 2nd Semester
  4. Finance Secretary :  Mr. Temjensosang Walling, B.A 4th Semester

Conclusion:

Education Club has successfully fostered a spirit of various competitions among students. It has been a vibrant platform for students to express their talents. The Education Department looks forward to continue encouraging the students to foster more creativity and develop essential skills among its members.
