Meeting minutes:
1. The first agenda discussed was on whether to conduct Freshers’ Day for M.A (Education) 1st Semester. It was decided that Freshers’ Day would be held and that the M.A (Education) 3rd Semester would be given the responsibility to organise the programme as well as the refreshment.
Tentative date for Freshers’ Day: 7th September, 2024
Venue: Seminar Hall
2. The second agenda was about the Credit score for each paper in M.A marksheet which is recorded as 4 credits and not 5 credits as per the syllabus. Therefore, it was decided that the HoD, Department of Education would clarify about this matter from the HoD, Department of Education, Nagaland University.
3. The third agenda discussed was regarding the Dissertation of M.A 3rd Semester. The information received from the Department of Education, Nagaland University was highlighted by the HoD that the M.A 3rd Semester students have to prepare a Research proposal which would be taken care of by the Research Board, Department of Education, DGC and to be further submitted by the Department to the University for approval. The decisions taken regarding this agenda were as follows:
(i) The Research Board was decided to be constituted consisting of a Convenor and 2 or 3 members. The following members were selected as members of the Research Board.

(ii) So far, the Department has received 10 students who are interested to take up dissertation.
It was decided that the dissertation would be allowed only for students who do not have any back log.
(iii) It was found that out of the 10 students, 2 students have back logs. Therefore, they would not be allowed to write the dissertation.
(iv) It was decided that the remaining 8 students would have to prepare a Research proposal (hard copy) and submit it on 2nd September, 2024 by 12:00 noon to the Department of Education, DGC for screening. The house decided that the students to take up dissertation would be selected on the basis of their research proposal.
4. The next meeting was scheduled to be held on 3rd September, 2024 to screen the Research proposals.
