A programme was held in DGC on 5th December 2020 in honour of Mrs. Alemla Imsong, who retired as Vice Principal of the College after having served at different official capacities including HoD of Political Science Department, Vice Principal and also Officiating Principal of the College The programme began with a welcome song by the DGC Students’ Council, followed by speeches from members of the faculty, students and ministerial staff as well as the Principal, Dr.Moanochet Longchar and former principal Ms.Kavili Jakhalu.
Describing her as an efficient administrator and a remarkable woman, the various speakers recounted her immense contribution towards the development of the college and the welfare of the students. While her sincerity and dedication has evoked respect and admiration, her warm hearted, generous and practical personality has won over the hearts of the extended DGC-family over the years.
In a heartfelt farewell speech, Ms.Alemla Imsong shared memories and experiences of her career. While expressing her gratitude to all for the constant support during her time in DGC, she shared her belief that the College remains under the care of able leadership and a committed staff. Reiterating her deep attachment to DGC and its family, she stated that the relationships built in the midst of the overwhelming odds and challenges faced by the college since its inception is the most meaningful and shall endure.
The programme was chaired by Ms.Sedevino, Associate Professor in Political Science.
