A report on the Inaugural cum Orientation programme for MA History under NEP 2020.
The Department of History, DGC organised the Inaugural cum Orientation programme for MA History under NEP 2020. The programme was chaired by Dr Vivi Swu.
In her welcome address, the HOD of the Department of History, Ms Lily Rino welcomed everyone and the programme was a historic moment with the commencement of MA 3rd semester. She highlighted how FYUGP was adopted by the College in 2023 merging the CBCS system as per the provision provided by the Nagaland University. FYUGP provides greater flexibility and the merged batch has successfully completed 4 years with Honours and Honours with research thus becoming eligible for 1 year PG programme. The Department of History aspired to start the 1 year PG Programme and with the introduction of this programme, it has paved way for other departments also. This feat was achieved through the unwavering support of the Honourable Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs Shri Temjen Imna Along, Smti V Lovitoly Sema, Ex-Officio Director, Principal Dr T. Tiakaba Jamir, officials of the Directorate of Higher Edn, VC and officials of NU.
The official inauguration of the MA Programme was carried out by Dr T Tiakaba Jamir and prayer of blessing was invoked by Dr A. Sentiyula, Head of Department English.
In his speech Dr T Tiakaba Jamir, Principal conveyed how the introduction of MA History was a historic moment for the College. From humble beginning, the Department will be able to progress. This task was made possible through the support of the Honourable Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs Shri Temjen Imna Along, Smti V Lovitoly Sema, Ex-Officio Director, Principal Dr T. Tiakaba Jamir, officials of the Directorate of Higher Edn, VC and officials of NU.
The syllabus was distributed to the students by Ms N Sentinungla Pongen, Vice Principal.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms Ningshijungla Longchar, Associate Professor, Dept of History. This was followed by orientation programme for the students which was chaired by Dr Vivi Swu and the orientation was given by Dr Ngutoli Y Swu
