Inauguration of water ATM and Canteen facilities in DGC campus on 4.10.18

DGC held a  progamme for the inauguration of water ATM and College Canteen by Shri Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Nagaland.  The water ATM is an initiative of ZSEE Smart Solutions Pvt Ltd, India, in partnership with the Dept. of Higher Education, Nagaland.

Dr Vitsosie Vupru, Asstt. Professor in Economics and chairperson began the programme with the observation that inaugurations are the manifestations of progress.

The Principal, Ms Kavili Jakhalu, in her welcome speech called upon the extended family of DGC, including the Alumni, for continued co-operation in the days to come.

Mr. Inato Shohe, General Manager, ZSEE, and an alumnus of DGC, elaborated on the company’s objective to provide clean and affordable water to colleges and its surroundings.

Speaking on behalf of Eco and Beautification Club, DGC, Ms. Moamongla Aier, Asstt. Professor in Political Science informed of the initiative taken by the NGO, LiFE (Living for Environment) along with Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) for responsible management of plastic waste in the campus.

Mr Temjen Imna Along in his speech called for every person to take advantage of technological advances to live more environmentally friendly lives. He also lauded the Alumni Association for giving back generously to the alma mater.

 DGC Alumni Association President, Mr. Yanger, highlighted on the association’s collaborative work with the college including the management of the college canteen. He also informed that the proceeds from the canteen shall be utilized for college development. The canteen with a seating capacity of around 50 people offers a variety of popular snacks and drinks at a student friendly budget.

The programme concluded with lunch at the newly inaugurated canteen.
