DGC was represented by Mrs. Anungla. Aier, Associate Professor in Economics and two 5th Semester students, Esther Yhoshu and Mushem P, at the programme for installation of sanitary napkin vending machine and incinerator at DC office Complex, Dimapur which was also attended by 6 Government schools from Dimapur.
The programme was chaired by Smti. Loreni Sophia of Community Health Initiative (CHI) who spoke on the objectives behind the project which was to impart education and services on the menstrual cycle and in the process remove the stigma associated with it.
Shri Anoop Kimchi IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, spoke briefly on the relevance of the issue.
Participants from the various schools and colleges were given free samples of the sanitary products for themselves as well as their institutions.
