Report for the period June 2023 To May 2024.
This committee focuses to identify and help/assist students with special needs in the college. It has identified six physically challenged students under different categories during the mentioned period. At present, there are no students with Intellectual Disability.
Activities Conducted
1. In line with Section 17 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 students with disabilities are allowed additional time during class tests and end semester examinations.

2. Three students with disabilities graduated in 2024:
(a) Moba – political science (H)
(b) Nengsangchila Kichu- Economics (H)
(c) Chuangwang Lowangcha – History (H)
Currently, two of them (Nengsangchila and Chungwang ) are doing Masters and Moba Konyak is preparing for Civil Service Examinations.
3. The committee members spend time with differently abled students during free periods to discuss academic progression and give individual counselling sessions as and when required.

4. Among the PwDs in the College, one girl is from a very poor economic background and was about to quit studies. Seeing her condition, the convenor approached many people for help.
Mr. Mahesh Agarwal, an alumnus of DGC came forward to help her with admission and examination fees till she graduates from Dimapur Government College. Mr. Mahesh has been supporting her since October 2023 till date.
Three persons ( Boko Sumi, Zuchobeni Tongoe, Nzanbemo Ovung) are sponsoring hostel fees which costs Rs. 4000/- monthly.
5. Three students along with the convenor, attended Family Retreat programme from 18th to 20th November, 2023 held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Campus, Dimapur. The programme was organised by Prodigals’ home and Nagaland State Disability Forum, supported by Joni and Friends, Office of the State Commissioner for persons with Disabilities, Churches and well wishers.

6. A differently abled student with the convenor attended ‘ Hamari Vaani’ programme on 3/5/2024 held at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur. The programme was supported by EnAble India and organised by Prodigals’ Home.

7. The College follows reservation of seats for the differently abled students for college admission as mentioned in Section 32 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Facilities available in the college for the Persons with Disabilities
- There is a provision for a wheel chair in case of emergency.
- The college has a Medical room which can be used anytime for their needs
- There is a separate toilet for the differently abled students.

- Vidila sangtam –Locomotor disability
- Shanjobeni humtsoe – Hearing impairment
