Report on the Conduct of NTA NEET (UG) Examination 2026

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), a standardized nationwide examination in India for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in MBBS, BDS and AYUSH programs was conducted at Dimapur Government College (DGC) on 3rd May 2026 as per the guidelines and instructions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). All examination-related arrangements including administration, security, monitoring, and candidate management were carried out in accordance with prescribed norms and protocols.
The examination was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Yelhi Vero, Asst. Professor, Department of Economics, DGC, as the Centre Superintendent with Dr. Temjennaro Jamir, Asst. Professor, Department of Mathematics, DGC and Ms. Taba Yasi, Asst. Professor, Department of Hindi, DGC, serving as Deputy Centre Superintendents. The examination process was supported by a total of 58 invigilators and 9 supporting staff members who efficiently carried out their assigned responsibilities and ensured smooth conduct of the examination.
A total of 696 candidates were allotted to the examination centre at DGC, including 1 PwD candidate. Out of the total allotted candidates, 653 candidates appeared for the examination while 43 candidates remained absent.
For the conduct of the examination, a total of 17 examination halls consisting of 29 zones were utilized. The Examination Branch Room was designated as the Strong Room, while the Vice Principal’s Office functioned as the Control Room for examination-related monitoring and coordination.
Comprehensive security and surveillance arrangements were established throughout the examination centre. A total of 37 CCTV cameras were installed in accordance with prescribed examination guidelines and surveillance requirements to ensure effective monitoring throughout the examination process. In addition, 12 signal jammers were installed within the examination premises to prevent unauthorized communication.
Security and verification arrangements included deployment of:
•10 frisking personnel
• 10 biometric personnel
• 10 police personnel
• 1 videographer
The examination centre was monitored by NTA Observers, namely Prof. Kanan Chan from Nagaland University, Medzhiphema Campus and Dr. Nagaraju Baydeti, Asst. Professor NIT Chumoukedima. In addition, Mr. Lichumthung Kikon, Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce, DGC, served as the Observer from the Ministry of Education.
All examination-related activities including candidate verification, biometric procedures, security checks, attendance formalities, distribution and collection of examination materials, and monitoring activities were carried out systematically and efficiently.
The NEET (UG) Examination at Dimapur Government College was conducted successfully and concluded smoothly without any untoward incident. The examination process was completed effectively through the coordinated efforts of the Centre Superintendent, Deputy Centre Superintendents, invigilators, staff members, security personnel, observers, and all supporting agencies involved.
