The Principal of Dimapur Govt. College, Dr. M. Libanthung Ngullie inaugurated the Children Park at GPS Senjum, Senjum Village, Dimapur on the 11th of April 2022 at a brief function which he also chaired. Chenithung Ezung, Chairman, Senjum Village Council, gave the welcome address while Nsemo Enny, SMC chairman gave a brief speech on behalf of the school. A. Chinyong Konyak, A BA 4th Semester student of DGC presented a special number.

The Principal, in his address gave a brief introduction about how the village came to be adopted by Dimapur Govt. College.  The village authorities approached the college with the request that the village school (GPS Senjum) be adopted. The IQAC of the college, after deliberations, decided to adopt the entire village, which is in line with the policy of adoption of villages under new government regulations. This is the second village adopted by the college. A MoU was signed between the college and the village authorities and the village was adopted for five years.  The setting up of the Children Park was to encourage enrollment in the school. As more activities were planned for the future, the Principal sought cooperation from all stakeholders for a fruitful partnership.

Roland Ngullie, Pastor, Senjum Village Baptist Church offered the dedicatory prayer.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mhayamo Patton, Teacher-in-charge, GPS Senjum. This was followed by a photo session.
