The department of Philosophy, Dimapur Govt. College, in collaboration with the Department of Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dimapur conducted a workshop on Disaster Management on 31st January 2019. A team of 10 members led by Dy. Comm. Ms. Avinuo, Chief Instructor came from Toluvi Training Institute for the demonstration workshop. 

Opening the workshop, she stressed on the importance of creating awareness especially on disaster preparedness. She added that the department is actively engaged in Disaster Preparedness Programmes under Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEX) covering entire Nagaland involving demonstrations on preparedness during earthquakes, fire and other emergency exercises, first aid, mock drills, etc.

During the workshop nine (9) methods of rescue were demonstrated. Dr. Thingthimla Yim, Medical Officer, CTI, gave a presentation on first aid techniques to victims of disaster alongside demonstration. 

Students were also taught the various techniques used to aid injured victims. Overall it was an enriching event.
