Skill Development Conclave Underway at DGC

A three-day regional Conclave on “Skill Development – A Preparation for Post-Covid-19” from 5-7 Nov, 2020 which is being organized by the Research Committee, DGC and sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) is currently held at Dimapur Govt. College.

The first day’s conclave featured the Inaugural Session followed by three technical sessions. Opening the conclave, the principal Dr. Moanochet Longchar gave the welcome address, which was followed by the Inaugural Address by Prof: Sibnath Deb, Director RGNIYD, Chennai via Google Meet. The Keynote Address was elaborately delivered by Dr. Sunep Imchen, Chief Veterinary Officer, Mokokchung. The three technical sessions saw theoretical and practical presentations on various topics with Ms. Rozelle Mero, Social Entrepreneur & Managing Director, The People’s Channel, Nagaland, sharing on the topic: Career Development and Economic Independence; and Mr. Alemtemsu, Horticulture Officer, State Horticulture Nursery Dimapur, sharing on the topic Prospects of Horticulture in Economic Development, and Practical Aspects of Horticultural Farming.

Besides the student participants, interested persons can also view the conclave through Google meet app as well as through Facebook live from DGC facebook page Dimapur Govt. College, Dimapur, Nagaland.  

 

Three day Regional conclave at Dgc Concludes

The regional conclave on “Skill Development – A Preparation for Post-Covid-19” concluded today stretched over ten technical sessions including both theoretical and practical sessions. The concluding had 3 technical sessions finally culminating in the valedictory session. Two technical sessions on the topic Mushroom Cultivation as an Economic Development Venture in Post Covid19: Theory and Practice” was conducted by Scientist Dr. Sosang Longkumer whose expertise and knowledge in mushroom cultivation is known internationally. The last technical session on “Soft Skills and Business Etiquette” was conducted by Social Entrepreneur & MD of the people’s channel Ms. Rozelle Mero. The Three-day skills conclave concluded with the Valedictory Session where the valedictory speech was delivered by Prof. Vasanthi Rajendran, Centre for Training, Orientation and Capacity Building at RGNIYD, Chennai. The Vice-Principal of the college Ms. Kezhaleu Hesso while pronouncing the vote of thanks thanked everyone who had contributed towards the success of the programme, and made special mention of the resource persons who were key to giving new knowledge, perspectives, insights and challenges, and finally thanked the sponsors RGNIYD for not only the financial help but showing keen interest and participating in the proceedings and also ensuring the successful conduct of the conclave.
