Certificate Distribution Programme for Jewellery Designer Course and Beauty & Wellness Course (Batch 2) held on 18th April 2026 in DGC

Dimapur Government College successfully organized a joint Certificate Distribution Programme for the Jewellery Designer Course and the Beauty & Wellness Course on 18th April 2026. The programme was conducted by the PM-USHA Monitoring Cell, DGC, in collaboration with the Skill Development Committee, DGC, under the Vocationalisation of Higher Education initiative. The Jewellery Designer Course was funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under PM-USHA, and the Beauty & Wellness Course was funded by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland.

Attendees included the Vice Principal, mentor-trainers, faculty members, and students of DGC. The programme was chaired by Dr. Temjennaro Jamir, Asst. Professor, dept of Mathematics, who highlighted the importance of skill-based education in enhancing employability and promoting entrepreneurship.

Ms. Ngungying M, BA 8th Semester, dept. of Economics delivered a speech on behalf of the Jewellery Designer course trainees. She expressed gratitude to mentor-trainer Zabenthung Murry, the Skill Development Committee, the PM-USHA Monitoring Cell and the supporting staff for their guidance and providing opportunity to explore creativity beyond textbooks. She noted that the course fostered entrepreneurial skills, brand development, and a collaborative learning environment, inspiring participants to grow and gain confidence as certified jewellery makers.

Ms Imsujungla Jamir, BA 4th Semester, dept. of English, spoke on behalf of the Beauty and Wellness Course trainees, conveying her extreme gratitude for the mentorship of trainer Ms. Hukali Avito Swu . She also acknowledged the wonderful camaraderie among her fellow trainees. She sincerely thanked the management, faculty, and staff for their unwavering support and for providing them with such an invaluable opportunity.

Dr. Meripeni Ngully, Vice Principal of DGC, felicitated the two mentor-trainers for their dedicated mentorship and guidance. This was followed by the distribution of certificates to students who successfully completed their courses. Dr. Ngully congratulated the trainees and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their future endeavours.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nungsangtola Walling, Asst. Professor, dept. of Sociology, who acknowledged the contributions of all involved in making the event a success.
