REPORT ON SPRING MUSICAL CONCERT

The Economics Club of DGC successfully hosted the Spring Musical Concert on 7th April 2025 under the vibrant theme “Recession Jam – From Crisis to Chorus.” The event was a lively blend of economics, music, fashion, and talent that celebrated creativity amid crisis, staying true to its timely theme.
The event was also graced by the presence of the Principal, his wife, and several faculty members from other departments, whose support and encouragement added warmth and prestige to the occasion.
The concert was gracefully hosted by Ms. Pouthailu Gonmei and Mr. Bachiu Lam, who kept the audience engaged throughout the programme.

ORDER OF PROGRAMME
Invocation: Ms. Lingoi Phom (BA 2nd Sem)
Welcome Address: Ms. Tunatoli Kappo (BA 6th Sem), President, Economics Club
Opening Ceremony: Runway of Genius – A creative fashion walk that showcased economic icons and innovative ideas by 7 participants.
Competitions:
- – Solo Singing – Each solo singing performance brought out unique vocal talents and emotional expression.
- – Dance – The dance routines were dynamic and showcased incredible energy and creativity.
- – Group Song (Participants from Philosophy Dept. and Economics 2nd, 4th & 6th Semesters) – The group song united diverse voices in perfect harmony, truly echoing the theme of unity through crisis.
Special Appearance: Locomotives – Their electrifying act left the audience thoroughly entertained and energized.
Musical Piece: Mr. Vikugha (BA 6th Sem) – Mr. Vikugha delivered a soul-stirring musical performance that captivated the entire auditorium and left a lasting impression.
Special Performance: Trip to the Moon – This performance transported the audience on a whimsical journey, creatively blending music, drama, and imagination.
Presentation: Announcement of winners who were awarded by the Former Principal, Prof. Sanjay Sharma and was handed over cash prizes along with certificates.

PARTICIPATION
The concert was attended by a total of 250 students and 11 faculty members from the different departments, including teachers from the Economics department. The event saw a vibrant participation of 25 students in the 3 items i.e, Themed fashion Show, Solo Singing and Dance Competition. The group song competition was a collaborative effort featuring students from the Philosophy Department as well as the 2nd, 4th, and 6th Semesters of the Economics Department



CONCLUSION
The event concluded with a joyful group photo along with the former Principal, Prof. Sanjay Sharma, his wife, the teachers and the executive members of the Economics Club. Thus, the Spring Musical Concert stood out not only as a cultural success but also as a reminder of how art and economics can harmoniously come together.
