Try Trust Truimph

SWOC English Dept 2024

Strengths:

Experienced and committed faculty actively engaged in both academic and extracurricular initiatives of the institution.

Coordinates with the DGC students’ council to manage the Literati Club, an inclusive platform for all students to explore literary and creative talent.

Efficiently manages two academic streams with diligence and focus.

Practises a proactive approach to supporting student welfare and development initiatives.

Implements a structured Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) framework to enhance students’ academic performance.

Receptive to integrating ICT into the teaching and learning process.

Weakness:

Disproportionate teacher-to-student ratio, impacting personalised attention and engagement.

A culture of silence among students that hinders classroom participation.

The demands of academic, extracurricular, and numerous official obligations involving college cells and committees can be challenging.

The workload leaves little time for teachers to do research.

Opportunities:

Opportunity to mentor and guide students from different backgrounds.

Opportunity to support academically weaker students through remedial programmes.

Opportunity to alleviate the financial burden on underprivileged families through stipends to students.

Access to faculty development opportunities, including seminars, workshops, and refresher courses.

Challenges:

The department aims to address students’ needs, fostering both their latent potential and talents, and empowering them as positive contributors to society.

Individual interactions with students in general/large classrooms are challenging.

We strive to explore the hidden potential of students as writers, poets, orators, thinkers, pragmatic leaders, public leaders, artists etc.

It is challenging for the faculty to maintain an appropriate professional distance while dealing with students from severely disadvantaged circumstances.
