Department of Education

The Department of Education, one of the first departments in Dimapur Government College, came into inception in the year 1966 offering General course. It introduced Honours course in the year 1974. The Department has evolved over the years and achieving a milestone in its history, it has introduced Masters Programme in the year 2023.

The motto of the Department is “Knowledge, Love, Service” which succinctly describes the knowledge, and the acts of love, service and far more that are imparted and learnt through education. In consonance with the motto, the Department strives to prepare learners who are not only erudite in their pursuit of education, but also humane in their approach towards life.

For both Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) programmes, the Department offers courses specified by the Nagaland University.
