
About the Department
Tenyidie is a standard and prestigious common dialect for the Tenyimia Community. It is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken by Tenyimia. Its written alphabet is Roman Script together with the conventions adopted by the Tenyidie Language Committee in 1939. Ura Academy is the institution established for the development and propagation of Tenyidie language.
Tenyidie department in Dimapur Govt. College was established in 2004. The department offers courses at the under graduate level under the aegis of the Nagaland University guidelines. At present, the department has a strength of 3 dedicated faculty members with its motto “Die – U Noule Chadiu” (Language – The Channel of Our Thoughts).
